In Amy Sillman’s work, ‘an energy of antagonism resides in forms that remain somehow in flux,  feelings that don’t resolve, signs that don’t signify and materials that struggle between construction and deconstruction.’ Well, that’s what it says in the press release, anyway.
Take that, zeitgeist!

So, Instantloveland wonders to itself, where is Sillman taking us? Into new territory for abstract painting, or to the end of a cul de sac? And how will we tell the difference? Camden Arts Centre is offering us the chance to find out, by showing Sillman’s ‘gestural drawing, painting, silkscreen print processes, video animation and zines’ from 28th Sept.
